Reported and alleged 4

  1. Reported

A leaked transcript appears to show him advising Putin’s aide on how to approach Trump.

Bloomberg published a transcript of an October 2025 call in which Witkoff advised Yuri Ushakov that Putin should call Trump before Zelensky’s visit, congratulate him and call him a “man of peace.” TIME couldn’t independently verify it. Republican Rep. Don Bacon: “He should be fired.” Trump: “That’s what a dealmaker does.”

  2. Reported

The Wall Street Journal reported at least $31 million from a UAE-linked purchase of 49% of World Liberty, the Trump-Witkoff crypto company, went to his family’s entities.

The Wall Street Journal reported a firm tied to UAE national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon paid $500 million for 49% of the Trump-Witkoff crypto venture four days before the inauguration, with “$187 million going to Trump family entities and at least $31 million going to Witkoff family entities.” World Liberty says Trump and Witkoff weren’t involved; the White House says Witkoff stays out of matters affecting his finances and has divested.

  3. Reported

An Abu Dhabi firm said it would use the stablecoin of World Liberty, the crypto company his and Trump’s families started, for its $2 billion investment in Binance.

Eric Trump announced that MGX would use World Liberty’s USD1 coin for the deal. The White House later said Witkoff “has also divested from World Liberty Financial.”

  4. Reported

His son told investors he had pledges from Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait for a real estate fund while Witkoff was negotiating with Qatar to end the Gaza war, the New York Times reported.

The family denies he claimed those pledges. The fund was canceled shortly after the Times asked; the family’s lawyers called it a “baseless narrative of impropriety,” and Alex Witkoff blamed market conditions.
