Verdicts and rulings 1

  1. Court ruled

Two courts ruled she was running a US attorney’s office without lawful authority. She quit: “do not mistake compliance for surrender.”

Chief Judge Matthew Brann found she had acted “without lawful authority since July 1, 2025,” and a federal appeals court agreed. Bondi called it a “flawed” decision and kept her on as an adviser.

Reported and alleged 1

  1. Reported

Two weeks before Trump pardoned a billionaire banker, the banker’s family hired Habba in a deal the New York Times valued at $50 million.

The New York Times reported she became general counsel at Concord Partners, a company set up by Julio Herrera Velutini’s daughter, starting January 1, 2026, at “$10 million a year for four years along with a range of bonuses.” Trump’s pardon of Herrera Velutini was announced January 16. Habba says any link to the pardon “is false”; a White House official said she “had nothing to do with the pardon.”
